On my old silver 2,2 from 1981:
3) side windows opening/closing was without clacking in final position

My red 2,2 S from 1983:
3) side windows are clacking in final positions

My wifes yellow 1,6 from 1982:
3) drivers side window is clacking, but passengers no  ??? ;D

This noise is because the motor gear housing is not held tight.  See my FAQ's.

Choke on right is Belgian spec. car.  All others on left.
Interesting.

I have always thought my car was originally imnported (to the UK) from Belgium, but my choke is actually to the left of the gearlever. However, with my 1.9i conversion that doesn't have a function anylonger, - except giving my right leg a bit more space :-)

I do have the glass-inserts for the extra headlights though, which also is a Belgian (German?) tell-tale.
