1.6 Cam Cover - Where to Buy? What to search for ? (Translations required)

So I am about 3/4 of the way through getting the engine back together and would like to make it look a bit nicer in the engine bay.
So where can I get hold of a nice alloy Rocker / Cam cover? The picture below (stolen of the internet from Techno39) shows what I would like but not necessarily "Simca" ideally Matra or any other options???


 I have seen the Maurelec covers (Maurelec / Talbot ) and they are not a bad price but I would like to see if there is any thing else out there.

What would be the best search terms to use and in which country France = Leboncoin = Couvre Came. Holland

Never seen anything like this for the 1.6 engine myself. Politechnic do a nice 2.2 cover which is of no use to you though. How about jazzing up your original cover with a crinkle finish paint in red or black?

Frosts do a D.I.Y. aerosol paint but as you obviously want a fine and dandy finish how about this:-

Just had a look at the Maurelec one you are thinking of. It has no crankcase breather as far as I can see, so you would have to do some engineering here also unless you have an oil filler cap with the built in breather?.   (300Euro...ouch!)

There are plenty of them out there for the 1.6 or as they are used on the 1100 & 1200 & 1400 used in Simca Rallyes. Just trying to find a bit of sparkly stuff.

Interesting you mention the Powder coating as I work for a powder coating supplier in Farnham and we did develop a similar technology but I have never liked it that much to be honest.

Crankcase breather is on the end but yes the price is steep so I need to find a second hand one and refresh it my self.

So any ideas what I need to plug into Google to go hunting ? ? ?

I'm not sure this is available any longer Graham.  It wasn't when I last checked, which is why I'm looking into plating a 2.2 cover.

The Maurelec ones (both 1.6 and 2.2) are definitely no longer available as I have contacted them about their covers.

I have also tried the person in Ireland who claims to make custom alloy covers but he has never answered me.

The only way you are likely to get an alloy rocker cover for the 1100/1294/1442/1592cc family of engines James is if you can source a second hand one, I'm afraid.
