excelent info Steve i do know that the seal splits in the middle.
Personally - given the option, I would not split the seal in the middle, but rather join it under the B-pillar covers or something. Many windscreens are damaged by water creeping in through the seal-join - maybe accelerated by the way the seals seem to crimp over the years. /Lennart

My car suffers from just that problem. Rust develops under the windscreen and the moisture that gets in is clearly visible on the windscreen which has developed "white spots" all along the lower edge of it. It's due for replacement of course, but for now, I have just sealed the area all the way round with some windscreen sealant, and it works well. It keeps rain out of the car too

You may want to check this: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/JOINT-D-ENJOLIVEUR-DE-PARE-BRISE-MATRA-MURENA-/122527668925As far as I know the seller was the owner of HB Pièces so should be reliable. I have not ordered from him before so cannot vouch for him. According to the description there is enough length to cover the windscreen and the 2 small strips on the roof. JL.
