Hi all,

My original front acrylic side lamp covers with the glass inserts are very yellow through age. Normal, I know, but I have heared that if you put them in the dishwasher they come up clear and new. I'm not convinced, so I ask your advice before trying this and recking them. I would have thought this would craze them and make them opake, or at least distort/buckel them.
Would this also apply to the tail lamp covers? Any comments appreciated.
Titus Taylor.

I know that if they are pale and scratched, they can be polished up again, but conserning the yellowing I do not think there is anything that can be done about this since it probably is discolouring.

Thanks for the thoughts. Tried the scrubbing route with no joy. Won't risk the dishwasher for now. Would also be interested in Davids new post on the rubber seals around the covers. All I have found is house window seal foam strips.

For schratches on Plexi/acryl glass, you can use a brass polish a powerdrill/Dremel with a soft clothes.
I use stuff named Brasso for that.
The discoloring is caused by the UV in sunlight and there is no solution for that.
To protect it you need a UV protection wax.
