Title: CRB1
Post by: MartB on April 07, 2009, 04:55:08 pm
Hi,
I'm Mårten from Sweden. I have a René Bonnet Djet that I'm trying to restore. I bought the car a few years ago with interior, windows and a few other parts missing.  I have found some parts but there are still some missing. For example I'm searching for original seats. It looks like I may have to settle with some aftermarket seats, but that is also difficult to find since the space is very narrow. If anyone knows any original seats for sale or for maybe other suitable seats I'm interested.

Regards
Marten

If you need to look for narrow aftermarket seats, try for seats that are designed for Westfield or Caterham 7 type cars. They are very narrow!

Hi Marten,

I also have a Rene Bonnet D'Jet 1694 that I have nearly fully restored.
I have original seats in mine and to be fair they are not brilliant!
There is no support in them.
You may however find that the best buy is some classic mini seats.
They fit the period correctly and they (im sure!) will fit.

Hi Jody,
Thanks for your reply. I'm sure you're right regarding the original seats. I've tried them a few times. However, they do look good in the car.

I am planning to replicate the seats on my Jet 6 for my 5S so it might be possible to make extra copies of the fiberglass. You can contact me at larry.weinstein@wright.edu

Here is a picture of my Djet. However, it's not really presentable yet.  :)
