Title: Oilfilters? Post by: krede on May 09, 2007, 07:57:16 pm I replaced the oil, and filter last week and fitted the spare I got along with the car (Mann w712/7), but it seem that they do not make those anymore.
What are brand types are you using? (2.2) Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: Anders Dinsen on May 09, 2007, 08:46:20 pm Motaquip VFL 111, got it from Will :)

Post by: krede on May 17, 2007, 08:17:54 pm Lennart!! if you get the time to do it, cant you put all this information in a "spare parts" archive of some sort?.. would be nice to have it all in one place instead of having to roam the forum every time you need a parts number ? :)

Do you know about -S distributor? Lars LarsB: I searched it for both types: 2,2 and also 2,2S For 2,2S the spark plugs are different only from NGK, and for 2,2S is accesible only the distributor cap from Bosch but incomprehensible - 1 235 522 803! That's why I have wrote that there could be some mistakes... Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: Lennart Sorth on May 18, 2007, 12:34:51 am ... a "spare parts" archive of some sort?. Good idea.I have for years wanted to either convert the entire site, or at least add a few pages with "wiki" functionality, and I have plenty of different systems in mind. That way we could all add to (certain) pages, and thus build up such an archive. I will give it another thought. It also involves some good thinking regarding security, as most of these wiki systems are in fact rather terrible, when it comes to withstanding even a simple hacker. hmmm /Lennart Title: Re: Oilfilters? Wheel bearings? Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: davidewanprice on May 18, 2007, 09:34:20 pm I agree it would be a great use for owners to be able to access such info, I know the MEC website has a few listed but its limited. So far I’ve found Roy (MEC’s Murena GURU) and Will (Matra Magic) more than helpful.
The only problem I see would be if someone were to give incorrect info, furthermore for someone else to use it and for a problem to arise from it. Mr website maker beware! Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: Anders Dinsen on May 18, 2007, 09:36:42 pm Brake pads: You forgot the best brake pad on the market for Murena: EBC GreenStuff front: DP2317 EBC GreenStuff rear: DP2189 Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: michaltalbot on May 18, 2007, 10:11:12 pm EBC? I don't know them, they aren't on our market ???
Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: Lennart Sorth on May 19, 2007, 12:14:38 am EBC? I don't know them, they aren't on our market ??? GreenStuff are absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended. My subjective feel is 25% more braking power (hell, I can even block my rear wheels with the handbrake now!), and then the dust is even less apparent. You can get them from MatraMagic - and possibly others. /Lennart Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: lewisman on May 19, 2007, 01:25:22 am I tried greenstuff pads on my Alfa and apart from the lack of brake dust I wasn't impressed. Braking performance was not as good as the original Alfa pads. I have since used Mintex and Ferodo pads (we have 2 Alfas) and both had better performance than the green ones.

Interesting, my experience is the reverse: Just as much dust, but better braking. I have only compared on the Grand Espace - I have never driven my Murena with other pads. Title: Re: Oilfilters? Post by: davidewanprice on June 04, 2007, 07:50:49 pm My car is being serviced tomorrow and i'd just like to confirm that the stated brake pads, are they different for the front and rears, it seems so for green stuff, what about the others?

Yes, the pads are different front and rear on all brands. - Anders |
