Title: Defective "Lenkmanchettes" from Simons Post by: Jon Weywadt on November 17, 2014, 02:23:30 pm Hi all.
Jan and I want to hear if any of you also have problems with the "Lenkmancettes" on the rack and pinion steering arms? ??? We have both replaced them 2 years ago with new ones from Simon and both of Jan's and one of mine has the end cracked off. I replaced mine first time 4 years ago, so it appears that the ones from Simon only last max. 2 years. >:( I intend to complain to Simons again, as I did 2 years ago. That time I could not find my receipt, but this time I have it. Do you know of a better source? ??? Maybe look around on E-bay a bit. this boots are in a wide range of Simca/Talbot. Here for example. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TALBOT-HORIZON-NEW-STEERING-RACK-GAITER-KIT-/400796137751?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d514fb917 They are old stock but most of the time they did not come from China ;D Title: Re: Defective "Lenkmanchettes" from Simons Post by: suffolkpete on November 18, 2014, 11:27:51 am The poor quality of re-manufactured rubber parts seems to be a general complaint in the classic car world. The last set I bought only lasted a couple of years. The latest set came from a UK site called mister-auto, although the parts were shipped from France. I shall see how they last.
