Way back when I bought my 2.2 the car came with a new carburator from a Citroen CX 2400.
It was sold by the Matra dealers as a original replacement.
I never liked it.
I laways had to drive the car with a bit choke and acceleration was way off specs and with hiccups.
A while ago I found a used carb for the Murena.
This is the Talbot carb.
Ordered a kit.
This is a kit for the CX.
Most things can be used except top cover gasket.
It looks different and I didn't want the gasket to mess up so I ordered a seperate one.
The small o-ring for sealing the acceleration channel is not included.
I found that size OD 6mm; Thick 2mm (tight fit); or OD 5mm; thick 2mm; do the trick.
Axles in good shape so I cleaned it and placed the kit.
Note...This membrane needs the little rod from the old carb mounted.
I punched it in.
I heared that solexes are sometimes bend.
I conroled it and found 0.15 mm.
Flatten it .
Floater tested in hot water.
Finding info about this Solex is difficult.
Nowhere is described how to adjust float hight.
Pictures found tell me it has to lay parallel with top and then has to shut off the needle.
I locked the floater with some paper. in a parallel line with the top.
measured the float stop cut off from the top.
And the float lift point with gasket on.
Brought the 2 parts together en tested leaking.

Mixture screw new rubber. and sit tight.
ready for some action.
Mounted the thing in the car and after some fidling with idle. mixture screw and float height (2mm lower) the car runned like never before.

The Citroen carb is way of specs and a bad replacement.
