Title: Maiden Voyage completed successfully
Post by: TheJoker on April 11, 2007, 01:17:39 pm
Guys,

I'm pleased to say that the maiden voyage to Nürburgring was completed successfully. The car handled the task without any problems cruising the Belgian motoways with ease. 80mph+ on the speedo, no problems. And this is with two bikes in the back, a roof-box and two persons.

I also took the car out for two laps so that I could fit the car with a power-boosting Nürburgring Sticker.  ::) ;)

Excellent !
Sounds like a great pilgrimage - one to be repeated ?  :-)

And this is with two bikes in the back, a roof-box and two persons.

I will quietly assume that the laps on the Ring was not ! :-)

Yip... it will be repeated, as many times as possible...

And yes, the two baptism laps were done with two persons in the car, only one bike in the back, and the roof-box packed. The journey was done the same but with two bikes in the back. :) I'll write a story about all this on my site one day. :)

only one bike in the back

Whoaaa - your extra tiedown points really showed their worth then.

I wouldn't mind (actually I would LIKE) to run that story on matrasport when you get around to writing it.

I never got round to add tiedown points. Just use the seat-hooks now. Four ratchet straps, to tie down the bike, and then one to keep the bike back, using the front wheel. This way it's not going to push through the seat if there's an "incident".

I'll keep you posted when I've written the story. I was planning a two part thing; the why (research) and then the how.. :)
