Removing the valves
«
on:

Right... I'm about to remove the valves... and of cause my "spring compressor" can't reach and I'll have to come up with an extension of some sort...
Does anybody know of an "off the shelf" tool for removing the valves?. Or do I need to get "creative"?

I bought one of these some time ago, I think it can do the job - but I have to admit that I haven't tried it yet:

You're right - it can't reach over the edge of the cylinder head down to the valve spring cup. It needs an extension of about 4 cm

That as what I thought
.. but is would be easy to cut/weld
How does it fit over the valve spring?

Hello again
Here is a link to a web site selling various valve spring compressors, I have never used these people but there are illustrations on the page. You may be able to get these compressors locally.

This one might be able to do it too and a bit cheaper (but maybe not worth the saving?)

I think it will be all right. The biltema tool has an opening of 135 mm and can easily reach over the edge of the cylinder head - the problem is only with reaching down to the top of the spring, so the 175 mm opening possible with the more expensive tool is not really necessary.
