Hello
Straight to subject
To put things in order:
1. some time ago the central locking from key (both of them) starts to work intermittently and only from certain angle from the car.
2. I have resynchronized the keys (both) successfully then, like here:I. All doors closed, ignition ON then OFF
II. Press the CDLB (in roof console) until doors lock/unlock, Within 15 seconds, complete next steps
II. Press the 1st PLIP once (doors lock/unlock)
IV. Press the 2nd PLIP once (doors lock/unlock)
But the problem from 1. persisted.
3. Now it doesn't works at all.
4. I tried to repeat the step 2. but this time it didn't work.
5. I used the "mechanical/manual way" to unlock/lock the car from drivers side, and roof console button for rest of the doors.
6. Both keys have a working red LEDs when I press the remote. Should I change the batteries ???
7. Those things come, in my mind to conclusion there is a problem with in car receiver.
I remembered, I have read somewhere on the Internet, about little circuit that controls the dashboard display of Renault Scenic and Audi TT.
If you heat it for few seconds it will starts magically working.
So this summer when outside were 39 degree Celsius, i have closed the doors and start heating system. When the interior of the car became to hot to breath I have stopped the engine.
I have initiate the resynchronization procedure and it worked. :o
BUT.... the locking/unlocking from key fob, after the inside climate was cooled down, still doesn't work.
8. The unlocking/locking problem is still present today.
Is there a chance to make things works normally again ???

I had the same fault. To save time I changed the dash cluster from another car for which I also had the key fob. I will look into the fault with a few more knowlegeable than myself & report back.

pile of clusters to sort out, mostly kms need zeroing

I think this is the reciever but swapping it does not make the locking work so think it is on the main board.

Either get a new dash unit or send it to bba-reman or similar for repair. You can scratch you head hairfree or something and you still will be struggeling.
Its a motorola chip with poor design that is to blame almost every time problems occur with instrument or BII unit.

I don't think it is the motorola in this case. Yes the 908 is a poor quality chip but it is only active when the ign. is turned on as it needs the relevent clock circuit to work.

Ive seen a few of these with faulty remote in addition to other faults with panel, take a hair dryer and heat this chip up and it suddenly works.... ::)

Thanks for your responses

Already done that. Almost the same, only I don't disassembled the dashboard and used the heating system of the car.
It is obvious this will not work, when you are outside of the car, with feet stuck in the snow, trying to open doors from key fob. ;D
@renaultbiler
The complete name is MC68HC908AZ60?

Is this the only problem ???
Cause I can manage to change the chip.

Ive never repaired these myself, so i dont know if its possible to replace the chip without any software transplant.
I replaced instrument panel on one a few years ago, the owner had fitted a 1.2w bulb on top of this chip to keep it warm and working for a good while ::) Pretty creative - and effective for a year or two.
