Title: Vacuum sensor for warning light
Post by: roy4matra on February 06, 2026, 10:16:15 AM
Hello all,

On the German specification Bagheera, there was a Jaeger vacuum sensor fitted in the front compartment near the white solenoid controlled vacuum valve and it was connected to the vacuum supply hose from the intake manifold with a Tee piece.  It was there to trigger the red warning light (second from right) in the instrument panel, if there was little or no vacuum to enable the head lamp pods to be lifted.  It was a German requirement or law for this essential head lamp function, in the same way that the Murena has a cable to pull the head lamp pods up, if the vacuum system fails.

The number on the sensor appears to be 317398 01.  The part in the Bagheera parts manual is 00304999 00 and it is mounted on a bracket part number 00305000 00.  Does anyone have one?  Does anyone know where I could find one?  Does anyone know at what level of vacuum the sensor triggers the contact to bring on the warning light?  Thanks.
