The clutch cable on my 1993 espace has just broken. My local dealer have supplied a new cable but it's too big to thread through the bulkhead to reach the pedal.
From the interior/pedal side it's all very difficult to get to but looks like there's quite a narrow fixed metal sleeve that isn't removable and is too narrow for teh new cable nipple to pass through. Is it removable if I use more force?:

From the engine bay it's also very hard to get to the hole, but it looks like this:

Is what I've pictured removed to fit the new cable? I can't get it out if it is!
Yes, I think that piece that's sitting in the hole belongs to the cable and should be removed as there's one on the new cable :)
