Title: M 530 LX spotted in Sweden
Post by: Anders Dinsen on September 07, 2008, 05:29:03 pm
A nice white 530 passed us in the other side of the motorway E65 between Sturup and Malmö today at 16:20. It was probably out enjoying the nice September weather? Three of my sons and I were heading towards Copenhagen after a busy day watching races at Sturup. It was really nice seeing a 530. It's the first time I have spotted one on the road :D

There are only three Matra M530 in Sweden, two white and one red.
The red one has not been on the roads for the last twelve years.
One of the white ones is a rusty wreck and will never be on the roads again.
I think the white one you spotted was  a Matra M530A owned by a man living close to Sturup.
I have never seen a Matra 530 on the road.
And I have never seen a Matra Murena in Sweden. There are only ten Murenas here and only a couple of them works :(
How many Murenas or Bagheeras do you have in Denmark?

I think the white one you spotted was  a Matra M530A owned by a man living close to Sturup.

That sounds probable. It looked very good and was easy to spot as it had that special "sportscar" look.

There's a few Murena's on the road in Denmark, and I think the number is increasing a bit. Popularity probably has a lot to do with the fact that they suit our climate well, parts are available, and that it's becoming more popular here to have a car-project - even by "office-guys" like myself ;) My guess is that there's 30-40 Murena's in Denmark. Some of us even use our Murena as a daily driver!

There's also a good number of Bagheeras. A few of them of course "under restoration", but some are running. It's a rare car to see on the road (I have never had the luck), and I think many of the owners (having spent a lot of hours on restoration) keep them very safe.

We know of one or two M530's here (Lars - chairman of our club - has one, and I think there may be one more), and two Jet's. One of the Jet's is a race car. It has actually done a few laps in Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix a few years back, and is now close to going back on the track - I have heard that the owner wanted it to go to a historic race in Spa, Belgium, but also that it was unlikely to be ready. But let's see. The other Jet is owned by a car collector.

Hi
The white M 530 that you saw is owned by Helge Rasmussen, Svedala. He has just attempted in this weekends Matra-meeting in Denmark. According to what he told me, the car has been used for race by a former owner...In Poland ???.

Hi
the white 530 had been taken part in the Danish Matra summer meeting in the south of Jydland (the owner is actualy Danish but has been living in Sweden for approx 40 years).
Further 2 German 530 were pressent.
In total 16 Matras were pressented: three M 530, one Baghera I (gues who), two Baghera II (one for sale and in very good original condition asking price 49.000 kr The owner wants to consentrate with a Jaguar E projected, I tried to convince him to sel the Jag instead but with no succes), lots of Murenas and one Rancho (mine).

Regards Hans

Hi Valross

Do you know where in Sweden it is located, and if he might be interested in selling it?(I could use it for spareparts).

Lars

Hello Lars

The car is in a barn outside Helsingborg, just across from Helsingør.

The owner is Nikola (Miki) Romanov, phone +xx-xxxxxxxx, mobile phone +xx-xxxxxxxxx
(see later post for phone numbers /Lennart)

The car was for sale two years ago, that´s when I took the pictures. The price then was 7500 SEK :o (ca €800) or highest bid.
The chassis number is 6150. It has a swedish registration number DUF899 and all papers are in order

I also live outside Helsingborg, so if you want any help, just let me know.

Miki Romanov also had a Murena, which he sold to Oskar, a member of this forum.

regards

Lasse

It has a swedish registration number DUF899

That was a VERY sweet licenseplate for a car in such duff condition ;-)

PS: In case Nikola isn't super keen on having his phonenumbers presented
on these pages, I have put them here as a picture - then only members can
see them (and spammer-robots will in any case miss them).
