Title: Murena 2.2 Solex 34CIC carburettor and induction for sale
Post by: Anders Dinsen on August 07, 2009, 10:38:16 pm
Since I have converted successfully to the twin sidedraught system, I'm now offering my Solex 34CIC carburettor with manifold, inlet knee, thermostatic vacuum switch (warm air induction system) etc for sale.

The carburettor originates from a low mileage car before being fitted on mine to replace a worn set of sidedraught Solex'es. It has run without problems on mine. There is no play in the throttle spindle and the carburettor is clean and intact. It has been sprayed with WD40 to keep repaining petrol from solidifying inside it. I recommend, however, a cleaning and renewal of gaskets on it.

I offer it complete with a good manifold, air filter connections etc, plus a set of new petrol hoses. All parts can be seen in the photos here:

It is located near Copenhagen, Denmark. I can ship it anywhere in the world at your cost. Make me an offer! :D

Indeed: 200€ plus shipping, which I think is quite cheap, but is based on what Simon charges for the carb itself. However, mine comes complete with inlet knee and manifold. I don't have the main filter box - or rather: I'm still using mine, but that shouldn't be difficult to find as the filter type is still used on many Peugeots, e.g. 106.

I can get a quote for shipping to UK tomorrow if you want?

Haha! :D
I'm afraid that's out of the question unfortunately!

What's your problem - is it still a non-starter?

Aww.. darn it....

It has been sitting for some time, just got around to checking the distributor cap last day. And it was as I expected... Something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong there.... The cap was either 90 or 180 degrees of, so no wonder it just backfired op the carb.... after checking some more, it also looked like the distributor arm was misplaced 180 degrees to! :o Would have sworn there must have been someone else in the enginebay fidling around...
Unfortunately I got hit with the mother of all rainstorms later, so will try to reassemble it correctly this time :P, charge the battery, and see if we can it running again.

I do belive, since it has been running a little poor(too much air) the some of the previous  owners may have been trying to adjust the carb to compensate for the leak.
