Title: Esso LT71141 where to get in DK
Post by: Trolkar on October 04, 2009, 11:43:19 am
Hi there!

As subject, where do I buy in Denmark?

On Monday the 12, a new gearbox is fitted, and I don't want to use standard ATF / Dextron oil for the ZF 4 HP 20, but the oil recommended here in the forum.
Or is it possibly to order over the net?!?

I wonder where I can buy it in Sweden?

Renault have this oil in their system, it is called "LM0" oil and supplied in 2 litre cans - but it is perhaps more expencive than the ESSO can (It is the exact same oil, just different wrapping), in Norway Meca have this oil
- http://catalog.meca.no/ProductSheet.aspx?Article_ID=1237291&CarReference_ID=-1&CategoryType_ID=4
- but Meca is not in Denmark anymore ? In Sweden you have Meca but i cannot find this oil in their online webshop.

The LM0 oil from Renault is not branded "ELF" - it is not branded with anything exept "Renault LM0 oil" - it is the ESSO LT oil inside.

In Sweden, Meca have  not LT7114-1 in the range they hav another oil from Red Line D4 ATF http://redlineoil.se/atf-serien.html
I have examined the market today about oli to 4HP20.
Castrol have the cheapest Transmax Z for 130:-SEK/liter
Then we have Esso/Mobile LT7114-1 167:-SEk

You will always find other brands that claim to fit the box - but as discussed in other threads and elsewhere on the net, be careful with substitutes on this box and why risk anything using another oil.

I am a bit nervous. Sunday I set of to Berlin to get a new rebuild gearbox. I am really looking forward for that! – 95% of the time, the gearbox only runs in 3., and sounds very noisy.

But the firm is supplying the gearbox with Castrol oil, and they say that it is a perfect match for the gearbox. They even supply 1 years warranty with that oil. – But, I want the best.

My local Renault garage can’t help me with the original LMO oil. – It is not in stock, and they say, that it is not possibly to get it home before my trip. I called 2 local dealers, and it sounds to me like they have to buy more than I need, and that they can’t sell the rest, and therefore don’t want to help me.

Please help me…  Is it just me, or what?

Should I go on with the oil supplied, or try to buy some oils from a German Renault dealer on my way to Berlin?

Make sure they still issue a warranty with the genuine oil - if not i would actually accept the Castrol oil for this time. But there should be no reason for them to decline warranty when you supply the genuine oil!

I am fairly sure you can get the LM0 oil more easily in germany, part number is 77 11 172 226 (2 litres)

It is in my oppinion bullshit that they have to order more than your requested amount in denmark, as long as you accept 2 litre bottles (2-4-6 and so on). They are sold as pieces from Renault like any other spare parts, problem is that Renault Nordic dont stock this oil anymore for whatever reason, and Denmark also are bound to Renault Nordic ? So they have a week delivery time from France >:(

I cross my fingers that you will make it there with your box! Just take it easy... :o

Y E S!!!

I think the sun is shining !!  8)

As the gearbox also is used by Mercedes, my local garage gave that information to his oil supplier . And that was a hit! Apparently, they have the oil for Mercedes in 20 liters barrels!

I have placed a order of one barrel for about 1100 Dkr. (inkl. Vat) – Around 150 Eur for 20 liters!

I just hope, that when I see the barrel tomorrow, that is really IS the correct oil!

Cross your fingers!
