Here is one really interesting: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=b3xumkjhxeym (http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=b3xumkjhxeym)

One friend of mine was there to look at it and told me, that it's not bad for that price. But he allready has one 2,2 S.

I was yesterday there to buy the blue Murena S. But i drove home with an empty trailer. The car has a really worse condition. If it wouldnīt be a "S" it would be only good for break it off for parts. The car is for somebody who is searching for a lot of work and wants to invest thousands of Euros before it will go back on the road.

It could be true, but I don't think that there will be a lot of oportunities to buy good original "S" so cheap. And as I had both of them, have to say that there IS a diference ;) If I had to sell mine (with new engine and Spax susp.), I wouldn't go under 10k  ;)

The text says engine has been rebuilt, but the car is obviously damaged at the front. Paint is peeling off under the wind screen, but apart from that it looks okay. Both side mirrors are intact. Interior looks ok, except the fabric at the front of the dash on the right side has fallen off. Seats look fine, but should be with that mileage.

But with only 30 kkm on the clock, it has probably been standing still for many years and needs a lot of TLC. However, if engine is ok, it's an ok restoration project, I'd say.

I could buy it and make it into the race car I'm dreaming of... but I don't have the space, money or time to invest! :(

PS: This made me remember how well I like blue Murena's :)

Just forgot a point: the seller told me that the "rebuild" of the engine was only on the "bottom" side. New "Lager" (whatīs the english word for this ?) on the crankshaft and the connection-rod.

Ok. But if they've done that, I guess it's safe to assume the engine runs. Is it an original Murena S?

Lager in english is bearing. Which incidentially sounds a bit like the German bier, which is funny since a lager is a beer in English ;D

????? By whatever reason my second post came earlier in than my first one ?????

Maybe i pressed the wrong button and deleted it by mistake ? However, i will write again some words about the condition of the blue Murena. If it will then be in the forum a second time, just ignore it ;-)

The car has 132000 km on the clock. No papers, no keys. The front and the right front side are broken. The driver seat has a big whole in it (burned). The rear-wings (right word ? Sorry my english is anything else than perfect)  are only hold together by rust. Also the brake-cylinder etc is very rusty, like anything else than can rust on a Murena. The roof is only hold on itīs place by the windscreen. The rear-window canīt be open, so i donīt know how it looks behind. The 4-pipe-Devil has only three and a half pipe left. The engine, gear-box, brake-disc etc. are standing by side. I didnīt tested if the engine can be turned. The car was standing the last 15 years outside. Everthing ( car and parts ) are very dirty. The car needs new paint, there is nothing left of the wonderfull look of a columbia-blue Murena. The out-side mirrors canīt be turned, the inside-mirror is broken. Many wholes from speakers in the doors and i think there are many more points.

When i was there, the seller went down with the price to 800 Euro. For a moment i thought that will be o.k by breaking this Murena off for parts. But in cause it is one of 480 Murena S, i couldnīt do that. So this car needs somebody who will ignore the work and investment and just want to re-animate this car because it is a S. In fact you can find a good driving one for a less investment that this car will need to come back on the road.

I can confirm that. I spent the weekend with my friend Jan, drinking beer and working on my Murena, fixing brakes and such. The beer was good and the car now has good rear and hand brake.  :D

Hi
Just saw some comments on this Murena S on the German forum:
- The rear trailing arms are completely rusted away.
- All brake disks are aparently missing.

The other comments are in accordance with the comments written already on this forum.

@northmurena : I went on two unsuccessful trips to Germany back when I was looking for my Murena. I learned that people will tell you just about anything on the phone and in mails, and most importantly , you can not even BEGIN to judge the condition of ANY car much less a fibre glass car, like the Murena, from pictures.
In the end Lennart suggested that I bought the car that I own today since he knew both it's history and it's owner.
So I went to the UK and brought it back by ferry, and I have never had reason to regret my decision.
My advice is that you do the same. I am sure that Roy will know the condition of most club cars that come up for sale in the UK.

If you want a car HERE and NOW you should contact Ruud at Carjoy in Holland.(i was about to just as my car came up for sale)
Ruud is a Matra specialist and (last I heard) is happy to help with the papers needed if the car is to be exported.
I have bought an engine from him some years back, and In my experience he is honest and know everything there is to know about these cars. And the best thing is that he always has at least a handful of Murenas to choose from, making the long journey that much more worthwhile.

PS: I doubt that 2000 euros will get you a decent Murena.

Hej Krede,
thanks for your advice and help but iīm not really searching another car. I have a Murena S, a Murena 2.2 (that one would be for sale) and just bought one and a half Bag 1 for restoration.

But when i discovered the add of the blue one, i just thought to buy it and put it by side for a later restoration, because it is a "S". When i spoke with the seller it sounded not too bad. In cause that there is a sad story behind the car and the seller is not the former owner, iīm sure he was telling the truth like his knowledge about the condition of the car was. ( At that time, after i was there he knows now some more about it) .

And i totally agree with you, that you wonīt find a decent Murena for 2000 Euro. I think for a good 2.2 you must invest something between 4000 and 7000 and around 10000 for an S. But the problem is that the most potential buyers are looking only at photos and the price-label and do not see whatīs behind this. They often just comparing prices and not the facts.

Hilsen fra Tyskland
Kai

Of course you can ask Ruud. However, it is good to know that he left Carjoy in 2009. He concentrates on the EZ Electric Power Steering that he started Februar 2008 together with Roger Reijngoud.
See: http://www.ezpowersteering.nl/index.php?p=4&lang=uk

He sold Carjoy and the new owner is Laszlo Racz. So Carjoy moved from Herwijnen (back) to Leerdam, where it once started. And Carjoy has indeed at least a handful of good Murenas to choose from. You can even buy a Murena with a turbo motor or with an Alfa V6 there.
