Title: master brake cylinder Post by: rwdclassics on August 16, 2006, 01:58:56 pm hello all,
I'm in the process of rebuilding the brakes in my Murena 1.6 At the moment I'm trying to repair the master cylinder. Anyone can tell my how to disassemble the master cylinder? best regards Pedro Title: Re: master brake cylinder Post by: Lennart Sorth on August 16, 2006, 11:03:15 pm There isn't much to disassemble, - and as far as I know, there is even
less to repair. I don't think you can get "repair kits" for it ? A new one is somewhat expensive, but you *can* live with the Talbot Alpine/Solara/Horison model, - except you will have to produce a blinding plug, to make it fit. This is from memory, - but I think the difference is that the Talbot part accomodates all brake pipes directly, whereas the Murena has them joined just before they meet the master cylinder. I have attached a snippet from the workshop manual. It's just a matter of replacing them as long as the inner bore of the master cylinder isn't corroded beyond repair.
Here in Portugal I can get new ones if I can get the old ones out to sample. Thank's for the workshop manual page. Maybe now I can figure out how to disassemble the master cylinder. I'll post here the results if things turn out right. Pedro |
