Title: Electrostatic energy when you touch the car body
Post by: e.space.3 on June 22, 2011, 09:50:10 am
Anybody here: Do you receive electroshocks when touching the car body?
That happened to me every day last winter. And I see that, now, when outside are 30 degrees Celsius.

Why is this happening?

Respect

Yes that happens to me at times.
I think it's because you are wearing synthetic clothing that gets charged when you move around in it. The charge dissipates into the car like the door frame when you touch metal.
I haven't thought about it so much but try touching something else that's earthed in the car before leaving the drivers seat next time and see if you get a shock there too.
Someone told me today that if you wear only cotton clothing you wont experience that shock.
