Title: Hello from newbie.
Post by: William123 on September 28, 2011, 06:07:54 pm
Hi as topic title says I am new here, I am from West Wales and I have had my red Grand Espace RT-X DT since March 2009. It has generally been reliable and has 173,000 plus miles showing. I do all my own repairs which have included replacing broken rear spring, replace front strut due to a broken spring ??, repaired clutch slave cylinder which is made of some sort of plastic and the mounting flange failed, replaced leaking rear wheel cylinders and shoes and last but not least the steel water pipe that goes round the back of the block had a pin hole in it causing a minor leak. Could not get that off so cut out the offending section and sleeved it with fresh pipe and hoses. Well that will do for starters, just pleased to find such a good forum with plenty of knowledge to sift through. Bill.  :)

Hi and welcome. It seems that broken springs are not uncommon I also had a broken front spring at the last MoT inspection.
We have a 1998 Grand Espace dT which have now done 280.000 km out of which we have been driven the 65.000km. Except for the broken spring we have only had normal maintenance.

Hi ! next job is to change track rod end to sort play in steering, and then some better tyres to sort the understeer as it handles like an ocean liner ?? I had a V6 before and the engine fell out  :o, but that is another story.
