On the rear they should be twisted with a steelbar. On the front I guess a normal tool for retracting piston would do.

Its a quite common construction on rear calippers with handbrake function that they must be twisted and pressed simultanously to push back in. Thats not an akward Renault solution at all!

There are dedicated tools for this virtually anywhere, but you should be able to make it without special tool. Turn clockwise!

I had this problem with my alfa 156, one side went fine but the other side was a pig. I used a pair of pipe grips while pushing the piston back. Think i may invest in a tool for the next brake change just to save the frustration :'(

right to finish this one. This is what i did.

i had to renew the brake fluid so decided to undo the bleed valve on the caliper. Found it released pressure easier just used brake cleaner once finished to tidy it up. put some newspaper on the ground before you start.

Then got a set of grips (5 holes) turned it CLOCKWISE while pushing with my hand to give it some pressure. one side was a little tricky then the other.

TIP: if you use grips when you come near to fully retracting it in mind you dont pinch the rubberdust cover around the piston.  ;D
