Could anyone enlighten me as to whether any parts from a 2003 espace are compatible with the earlier jeok?
I have an espace the race and want to hoard parts for it because they are very rare here in new Zealand and a 2003 model has turned up at the breakers and the parts are cheap because of practically no demand for them here.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hello, unfortunately only very few parts - if any - are compatible between the JK and JE models. The JK was built by Renault, whereas the JE was built by Matra. I think they only shared the 2.0 16V and 2.2 dci engines, although the heavier JK model was generally fitted with the 2.0 turbo and later the DCI became a 2.0. Gearboxes are different, AFAIK. The roof bars seem to be identical, though.

Thanks anders just one more question do you know if the seats are the same ? Will they fit in the tracks the jk has very nice seats ! Mine are getting tatty and the kids have wrecked the pop up trays and arm rests !.

No unfortunately, the seats are not compatible :(
The popup trays and arm rests can be found on eBay, and I think I've even seen seat covers there. My trays are still working, though, but I replaced the gas springs on both some years ago.
