Title: Lamba Sensor Post by: fender on October 13, 2006, 01:06:50 am I have a 1994 2.0ltr petrol Espace. I have owned it for the last 8yrs, clocked-up 130k mile's and would'nt swap it for anything else.
Recently I had a new down pipe fitted (the one where the lambe sensor is screwed into). The old lamba was screwed back into the down pipe. This caused a few problem's; 1) irratic tick-over especially when cold 2) flat spot's through the rev-range I fitted a new lamba sensor and everything is fine again. I noticed on the fitting instruction's, that the lamba sensor's should be treated as a service item and changed every 30-40,000 mls. Thought this might be of interest. Also would anyone know where you can get a complete stainless exhaust system , as I live on a small island where there's plenty of salty air. try the web but one I have used in the past is: http://www.racecar.co.uk/quicksilver/ (http://www.racecar.co.uk/quicksilver/) This is also known as the London Stainless Exhaust Centre. For those worried that it is mighty expensive to and that only genuine Renault parts can be used, I can tell that for the 1992-1996 Espace's any 3-wire lambda sensor can be used. For the earlier ones still around, 1-wire sensors apply, but a 3 wire works too if the heater element is left unconnected.
In Scandinavia, Biltema sells 1 & 3 wire lambda sensors for a few hundred DKKs. Title: Re: Lamba Sensor Post by: fender on October 16, 2006, 01:59:44 am Thank's sparky, I'll try that out. By the way I too have 2 bmw's of the two wheel variety.
Anders, I bought a lamba sensor (specific to Espace)for £45.00. I dont know how that translate's into you're currency? It was the £100 charged for the diagnosis that still make's me cringe Regard's fender Title: Re: Lamba Sensor Post by: Anders Dinsen on October 16, 2006, 08:13:25 am Anders, I bought a lamba sensor (specific to Espace)for £45.00. I dont know how that translate's into you're currency? You get about 11.5 DKK for every £ so that's not too bad. I think garages all over Europe make a lot of money for diagnosis - or maybe it's just Bosch and the car makers that make a lot of money on diagnostic tools. Maybe both, who knows? |
