Title: Automatic gearbox for Z7X 775 Post by: LPG on July 25, 2014, 01:03:48 pm My gearbox decided to break down the other day. Fine in revers but nothing or very little in forward gears.
I have then found a 4HP20 from a Laguna I. They have the same parts number esxept for the last digit. Can i use the Laguna gearbox in the Espace if not why :) Title: Re: Automatic gearbox for Z7X 775 Post by: BrianM on July 25, 2014, 01:56:31 pm I dont recognise your car code is this mk4 espace? The gearbox internals will be the same if wheel & tyre size are the same on both cars. If not then the diff ratios will be different. if it is a manual then may be the ratios will differ slightly. I doubt if there is a difference if it is just one no. out
Title: Re: Automatic gearbox for Z7X 775 Post by: Anders Dinsen on August 03, 2014, 07:20:05 am Z7X is the motorcode for the old V6 (12v), which didn't use the 4HP20 but another gearbox (not sure which). It was used until modelyear 1999, I think. The 24v is L7X and it was mated to the 4HP20.
A 4HP20 from a Laguna probably won't fit - there are even two different versions of the 4HP20 used in the Espace, and it has to be the right one. These people might help: http://www.getriebeservice-berlin.de/ /Anders |
