Title: Front shockers?
Post by: lewisman on October 24, 2006, 11:19:28 pm
Are the front shockers the same as the Horizon?  I know the valve ratings will be different as there is noweight at the front end of a Murena  but I don't mind if they are a bit harder.

You would normally not want to stiffen the front by using harder shocks as this will lead to small but significant oscillations in the suspension, which worsens handling and reduces brake efficiency. Shocks and springs are generally mated to each other. That said, a pair of wrong shocks may be better than a pair of worn out ones ;)

You should also remember that even though the engine is in the back, the front axle still has a load of some 435kg's (2.2)..
Being made of cardboard, balsawood and spit, im not sure the Horison, would weigh much more.
