Title: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on July 19, 2021, 08:39:28 pm Didn't find a topic dedicated to this yet. Figured some of us may like to share our pictures of our Murenas.
I took this today making use of the current floods. May share some more of this shoot at some point if I get around to it. Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Anders Dinsen on July 20, 2021, 07:26:00 am Brilliant idea :)
I've made the topic sticky. /Anders Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Anders Dinsen on August 21, 2021, 08:21:23 am Here's an almost 15 year old photo of my car and my back then almost two year old toddler Troels
Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on August 21, 2021, 10:36:16 pm Adorable, he is checking the nuts to make sure you get back in one piece 😉
Looks like he did a good job seeing how it's a 15 year old picture 😁 Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on September 13, 2021, 08:43:03 pm Not my car but didn't want to start yet another thread.
I was at the local simca club meeting and heard that there is a Dutch singer who used a 1.6 in her music video https://youtu.be/ylZ8gPOxgyU Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: GP on September 14, 2021, 11:54:33 am What a nice pleasant video, audio and visual to escape for a while from the world right now! :'(
Is this a recent video? P.S. If ever a new thread starts with "Matra Owners Favourite Music Video Featuring a Car" this is mine...... ::) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX86l6ZAe4o Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on September 14, 2021, 10:40:59 pm Yeah apparently her latest vid.

Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Murena1400 on July 13, 2022, 08:34:23 pm After spending a lot of time in the engine bay, I would love to show the results:
Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: GP on July 14, 2022, 09:50:05 am Good job. Very well finished with excellent detailing. Love the aluminium rocker cover too. :)
I bet you have a lot of skin missing from your fingers though? ;) Cheers, Graham Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Murena1400 on July 14, 2022, 01:17:16 pm It was quite a job.. more skin on the engine than on my arms actually..
I did the following things to it: - Group 2 JRD Cylinder head (rocker cover belongs to the head) - Ducellier K142 distributor - Slightly modified K142/Group 2 camshaft. - Devil exhaust on original exhaust manifold. - Dell'Orto DHLA 40 carburetors. - Gutmann 170 induction kit (original Talbot Germany option) - Peugeot 505 Turbo HT Leads (better heat protection) Gives a really sweet punchy engine! Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: GP on July 16, 2022, 01:41:52 am Q: Have you had it set up on a "Rolling Road" by anyone with some BHP / Torque graph printouts yet?
If so, would love to see them please! Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Jepson75 on October 23, 2022, 10:11:34 am (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/29xvm2d1zr88ccf8mhu6w/h?dl=0&preview=IMG_20220708_200922335_HDR.jpg&rlkey=hxuc2shxxbbrh9nclovglth07)

[/qcuote] Looks fantastic. I had the opportunity to buy your car and kicked myself a few times afterwards. You have done a great job! Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: roy4matra on December 07, 2022, 10:29:39 am Is it just me or did Jepson's pictures not show up? No I don't see any attached picture either, and there is no image reference in the posting, so it doesn't appear one has been added. It's the same with lewisman's posting today - there is no image and no image reference either. This is mine and you should see an image reference just below the photo. (Mine says Murena.jpg and a size) However, you do have to be logged in to see photos normally. I'm not sure how some photos in some postings appear even when I'm not logged in, but it must be a different way they have been attached. Roy Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: JV on December 07, 2022, 01:24:49 pm Better than new
Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on December 08, 2022, 12:02:27 am That looks in great condition. Love the badge on the front.
Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: roy4matra on December 10, 2022, 12:35:08 pm Better than new Unfortunately that photo was taken some years ago, so the car is not quite so good looking today, but it was just the first photo I had easily available to put in the posting. :) The reason I changed the Murena badge on the front to that modern Matra sticker was to make the front easier to clean! You see, the early Murena had a thick crinkly 'Murena' word badge, and the front used to get splattered with small flying insects when driving at high speed - which is my usual driving mode! That meant it was more difficult to clean the area around the 'Murena' badge. Later badges are simply flat black tape and are much less trouble to clean. (However I kept my original thick 'Murena' badge and moved it to the back) Roy Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Gib on January 20, 2023, 11:15:30 am New Years Day , 160 odd miles out and then 5 minutes from home the bottom ball joint had wound its self out. Partially sorted and ball joints staked.

Post by: Grapes on January 20, 2023, 11:36:26 am Oh my, that's a sad picture Gib :/ I guess it's what this thread warns for? www.matrasport.dk/forum/index.php/topic,2838.0.html
Interesting to see that a sports seat fits next to the other two seats @GP. So far all the Murenas I seen with sport seats where converted to two seaters so I kind of assumed it'd be hard to find a seat that fits in the place of the original. Love the action shots. Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Gib on January 23, 2023, 11:27:26 am @GP Yes it was a long day left Oxford at 06:30 to get to Brooklands Via my brothers house. The BJ fell of 10 minutes away from home at 13:15, the truck picked us up at 17:00 and dropped us of at home at 17:30. AND this was the AA, i was lucky i wasn't any closer as i think cover is void less than 1 mile from home ? ? ?
Its under control and the mechanical side is sorted just the wing to take of completely to check and reaffix then the bumper to be sorted Both once the weather is better. Yours does look good by the way. Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Gib on January 23, 2023, 11:29:45 am @ Grapes That link is for damaged ball joints mine was nearly new but unwound itself due to me not staking it well enough . Quite a few people commented on FB that they have experienced exactly the same issue.
Title: Re: Pictures of our cars? Post by: Grapes on January 23, 2023, 04:55:59 pm @GP, yep I plan to keep the 3 murena seats. Would like to reupholstered the spare set I have though. I seen some interior pictures of a bagheera with two tone upholstery that I liked a lot which I will probably use as inspiration if I ever find the time. My original seats are still fine though so I'm not in a hurry and if I get round to it, I'd redo everything.
Thanks for the additional pictures! Action shots are awesome. I wouldn't worry too much about hogging the thread. Just good inspiration for the rest of us to start posting more? 😅👍 @Gib. Ah the results looked so similar that it made me draw that conclusion. Hope you will get the bumper and panel sorted soon as well! 😀 Title: Re: Pictures of our cars?
