Title: Alfa V6 - 12v or 24v?
Post by: Jacobosterlindh on September 19, 2007, 10:32:33 am
Hi! I'm about to buy a motor for my project, wich engine is the best for conversion and what's the smartest.

I have to choose between the:
12v 3,0V6 - 192 hp from -88
24v 3,0V6 - 211 hp from -94

Help me, i know that some of the members here have experience from this!   ::)
Sorry for my shouddy english.

If I recall correctly its only one particular v6 that fits in the enginebay of a murena (assuming you are using the conversion kit and not doing everything by yourself)

Have a look at this :

Ok, i´m going for the newer one, a bit expensive... 900€ for gearbox+engine+electric-hairness and driveshafts.

Krede: Just because that "murena" forum is the most active on the matra forum, and i wanted a fast opinion.  ::)

Hello
In holland does "Carjoy" the V6 conversions, and he also uses a 12v Alfa engine.
he says a 24v doesn't fit, and a 12v engine is more reliable.

Well.. if the engine isn't intended for a murena anyway... who cares if it fits? :)

Aha! Ok, just what i wanted to know, thank you!
I'll send Ruud a mail and see if he has time to answer, i don't want to spend 900€ unnecessery.

Then again it will be the 12v v6, sounds odd that the two make a such big diffrence but 2 more camaxels ofcourse...

:-\ But the 12v is better than anyting at all... =)

Witch ever one you choose.. I'm afraid non of them will be cheap to run.... parts for those engines are supposedly very expensive...

If you don't mind me asking.. If the engine is not for a Murena. then what car will you be using it in? :)
