Title: Murena 2.2/2.2s Specifications
Post by: krede on March 05, 2008, 05:11:52 pm
I am in need of some kind of technical documentation to prove that a murena "s" uses the same bakes/suspention as a standard 2.2.

Anything that mentions the brake diameter caliber bore etc like for instance a workshop manual will do.

So if anybody has some material to meet this end I would be very thankfull.

here an official document (Peugeot) which makes the list of the differences between a murena 2.2 and a murena 2.2S.

And this document mentions neither difference in braking, nor difference of suspension between the two models.

I hope well to have answered the question because I do not speak very quite English and sometimes I make errors of comprehension.

Hi Krede.

I found this at the homepage from André DEWAEL with both Disc and Caliber bore dimension:

The parts catalogue alone tells you that there are no differences between 2.2 and 2.2S braking systems.  Otherwise they would have had to list the different parts.  In fact the only difference from the 1.6 model is the rear limiter valve and the rear discs.

Front pistons are 48mm dia. and rears 45mm.

It could be interesting if anyone (Anders?) had the official specification for the Prep 142 kit, as this kit was factory developed and installed by authorized dealers. The Prep 142 kit was an engine tuning kit only and there was no changes what so ever to suspension or breaks.
I do have some specification for the Prep 142 kit myself, but I do not remember if it describes the power output or if it only describes the equipment to be installed.
I have the data for the 142 kit on an external hard disk here in Sudan, but unfortunately the power supply for the HD has been burned. (The power supply has not been burned by islamist demonstrators, but it has been burned because the power company delivered 410 V instead of 220 V for an hour or two. The company did not charge us any extra for that service)

regards Hans

The Certificate of Conformity for each model is probably the only thing I can think of which might be an authoritative document if you really must have something other than simply showing them the parts list which hasn't changed...

The recent Murena exhibition at the Museum at Romorantin had these document on display in the glass cabinets along with samples of chassis plates etc.  The problem was photographing them as the flash tended to bounce of the glass! :-)  I can't remember if they had an example for each model.

Indeed it could. I don't have it :(

ROFL!

Good to see you still have your sense of humor, Hans :D

Phil: I would like that VERY much

Roy: Yep , I had thought of doing exactly that.. showing them that there are no seperate parts nr for any "s" spec brake parts.

My car HAS allready been recognized at having the engine of an "s" Murena, and thus it has been accepted that it has the bakes to cope with this.
So in theory it should be able to pass without any documentation beeing needed at all... BUT.. .. theory is one thing.. the Danish rules are something intirely different.

I think the papers Phill has, should be enough though..... I'll just have to have them translated. :)

Krede, try flooding them with papers on the car, all you can find, and DEMAND to see the papers on what you need, if they cant come up with what you need, they themself have a problem.

We as the public surely must have something to work by, some rules, not just the mood of the person checking the car that day....
