Title: Problem with reverse Post by: milovisk on August 26, 2005, 01:17:28 pm I have a 1996 Espace 2.2L Exec Auto
Very recently I have noticed that when I am going very slow in reverse or reversing up a slight gradient , the car shakes a lot and is very juddery, at faster speeds in reverse it's OK. What could be the reason for this?? What could be the reason for this?? This model is known for having problems with the automatic gearboxes. Without knowing for sure or having any first or second hand experience, I would point at a problem with the gearbox, probably with the torque converter. I suggest you see an automatic transmission specialist. A gearbox failure on this model will cost you more than the value of the car in my opinion.
