Title: Exhaust from IMASAF
Post by: jeko on April 26, 2008, 09:56:49 pm
Hi

Has anyboby tried the exhaust from IMASAF supplied from kfzteilehandel in Germany? I know, it is not steinless steel, but it is cheap.  Is it worth the money?

If they are the ones currently on ebay, I have bought one that I will fit when I get home in...(counts) 15-16- 17!! days!  ;D
I'll let you know if its any good.
But!
Taking into consideration that its an exhaust for a classsic car that was only ever made in very small numbers and went out of production 21 years ago, Id say it has to be pretty poor, at a price of 100 euro delivered to your door.! ;D

Krede, what about the mentioned exhaust?

I also bought that. My old exhaust was very noisy, but it was nice  ;D Now it is very quiet, there is just some deep sound and it's not bad also. I saved my old exhaust, but I'm satisfied with Imasaf. The exhaust in Murena is allways hot all over, so no water stays in it, due to this fact, its life could be long  ;)

Thanks.
That sounds good. Now I have a devil exhaust on my car but I am thinking of replacing it and Imasaf seems to be a good alternative. I like the current one but it does not match to the rear bumper and I do not want to modify that.
Maybe the devil should be modified to have one end instead of four if it is possible...

I bought the 1.6 exhaust from this company and was not happy. The part did not fit the profile of the car. It doesn't run horizontal to the body as it should and looks like it is hanging off. Worse than the pictures show. They refused to answer my emails.
But it performs well and has a deeper note than the stainless one I have. The cost is reasonable but if it's not correct then it is a waste of money. If the 2.2 part is correct then ok but if you have a problem don't expect to be treated as a valued customer!

I understand why you were not happy. So the seller is not so reliable... Thanks for the warning.

By the way. Michaltalbot, could you send some photos of your exhaust? Let's see how it looks...

Oh yes, Titus reminded to me, that when my wife had a yellow 1,6 I also bought one Imasaf for her. It looked like this:

There is some play in fitting points, with spending some time, it could be perfect, or every exhaust-mounting company can finish it.

I just resently got an IMASAF exhaust for the Rancho and I am very happy for the exhaust especially as nobody else can deliver exhaust for the Rancho. Fit is OK but will be better if I bended the tailpipe just a little bit more.
