Here's one for the tech wizards...
WHAT! is the diameter of the 2.2 engine breather hose?? ( crank ventilation)

Because my car is in Denmark, and I'm in Kosovo.. searching the internet for "bolt on" airfilters for the Dellorthos!!.... thats why!!  Roll Eyes

I reckon the best bolt-on air filter for the Dellortos is the Ramflo ones from Lynx in Australia. I plan to replace the old looking pancake types with these sometime in the future...

He he.. 3+ hours spend browsing through webpages to find the right filters... and there they are.... looks nice..fits the dellorthos straight away... easy to order..... dirt cheap too!!!
(k&N bolt ons are easily 3 times the price)
Hope to have them by the end of next week  Grin

ps: Now... i just hope that 5cm is available in front of the carbs... it gonna be tight..

I used Ram Flo filters on my Bagheera (I still have them somewhere) and I was not impressed.  They look cool but not a patch on K & Ns etc in terms of airflow.

I wouldn't buy them again.

Well..... they are bought and payed for now, so i guess we will just ahve to see how they preform on my dellorthos...
Anyway.. they are cheap, and i have never expected an airfilter to provide anything but a little extra noise.
My main reason for buying bolt on's was to get rid of the homemade airbox in my car.. that thing HAS to be more restrictive to airflow then even "bad" bolt on filters.!  Shocked

Trouble with any direct bolt-on air filter is that your engine will be breathing hot air from the top of the engine bay and not fresh air from the bottom. Unless you have a front mounted engine and sticking out the side in the style of a Super-7, or you have them pointing upwards with downflow carbs (like on a Miura for example), I wouldn't use them. I know some do, and it may work well - so let us know your experiences, Krede!

I dont think the "hot air" issue will ba anything to worry about.
In speed the enginebay will recieve plenty of ventilation.... well.. thats my gess anyway Smiley

I agree. Unless you after absolute horsepower, and lets face it thats not what the Murena is about, bolt-on filters will be fine. I think they're worth it for the noise alone!

I thought Ramflos had better airflow than K & Ns, in fact their biggest fault is poorer filtration.
I have a 600cfm Ramflo on the Weber DGAS fitted to my 205 and it is great.

Not to put you down... but if you aren't for the absolute power, then you should really convert to the single carb setup as that will be far more economical and easier to maintain. As for noise, you can always put a regular K&N filter on it...
