Went on a company sponsored day out to the Goodwood Revival today.
I was there on Saturday, - didn't see the Djet, but I assume you got to get inside the "dress-code" area. Pescarolo was driving a car there - but it wasn't a Matra. It looked a bit like a Cortina or Anglia, / but I have forgotten (and haven't got the programme at hand) :/ There was also a lovely Daytona Coupe on the track, and one of the equally lovely Superformance Peter Brock replicas/newbuilt in the parkinglot. I will also post pictures, as soon as I get them sorted and selected. My weekend also saw me as passenger in an Ultima Can-Am, visiting the Ariel factory to pick up an Ariel Atom (no, not me, but a friend of mine :-) ) - pictures will follow. /Lennart

It must have been your hair after the Ultima experience that prevented you from entering any dress code areas! Or did you forget to take off your vagabond costume? Must have been a great weekend I'm looking forward to your photos! - Anders

I have a picture of my son in the Ultima, while they shot past us on the M3 - and its not just the hair which is affected, - his whole face is distorted from the kick in the back acceleration. Unfortunately the rearview mirror obscures the middle of his face, so the picture isn't very usable :-) I thought my 3.0l V6 406 Coupe was rather nippy in mid accelerations, but having tried the Ultima (with half the weight and three times the power) it feels utterly dead Or did you forget to take off your vagabond costume? I'm known to live in my own times, with no (or very old) knowledge of fashion, so I should have fitted in nicely :-) Pictures are being sorted - hope to get them uploaded later this evening. For now, here is a picture of Pescarolo racing. /Lennart

A word of warning to everyone thinking they like their job: Don't look at the Ariel Atom factory photos!!!
yeah nice eh? I did tell the very friendly people that they must have the best jo in the world, to which they responded: "oh yes, we don't seem to have any problems turning up for work in the mornings :-)" Most of the "dirty" production is done by subcontractors (chassis, suspensionarms etc) - the factory simply assembles the cars from nice clean, powder-coated parts. It looked just like the pictures in a Haynes manual. Clean and inviting. sigh, back to work. /Lennart
