Newbie needs a little help

Hi im glad i have found this site 

I have a 99  grand espace 3.0 v6 rxe, The problem is the speedo, all the rest of the dash works but the speedo reads zero and outside temp says its below zero 
does it need a new clocks or is this just a sensor??

You could have one common or two separate faults

The outside temp sensor is in the left side mirror - it has failed before so it could be gone.

The speedo gets the signal from the ABS computer (or a speed sensor on gearbox on older cars, you could have that depending on the car production number) - a live diagnostics would tell if the ABS unit transmits the speed signal okay.

A common fault could be either the instrument panel or the BII unit.
