Hmm... I got a question for all you Matra experts!

I need to take the driveshaft assembly apart one way or the other, and now my best bet is to use a grinder  Shocked

I have the right hand drive shaft in the vice and have tried to seperate the to shafts at the middle joint.
It looks as if the rim of the housing have been rolled to lock the joint in place and also fix the rubber containing grease (gummi-manchet in danish).
If this is true I seen no easy way to take it apart, and it's not even possible to change the rubber seal?

Am I wrong?
Would you have to replace/exchange the driveshaft if the rubber seal is damaged?

Sorry about the bad explanation, but it's rather hard to explain in text  Cry

One picture says more than thousend words

The metal can slides over the outer joint and the edge of the can is rolled in to lock the can. You haveslide the can of the outer joint to separate the joint and to change the gaiter. The gaiter is hold in place by an extra piece of metal in the can.

Before you can slide of the can, you must "unroll" the edge of the can. Or carefully grind around the can.

Thanks a lot Bart,

Though I believe this is an example of rather stupid french design work!
