Hi all I have this espace that has done the rounds with other garages, But I am a sad perso that will not let a problem beat me. I only have atmospheric pressure at the map sensor actual values, I have checked the obvious thing like :- air mass, throttle position sensor. visually checked the waste gate and operated the actuator and boost can be obtained, the duty cycle on the waste gate is 50%, i have removed the egr valve and checked the seatig of the discs and they are all clean, the last thig i want to try is to activate the pressure sensor to see if my readings alter, to check the operation of the boost/ map sensor.

I have been told that the boost sensor is like the old type away from the manifold via a breather pipe connection, but i can not find it, does anyone know the locatio for this map sensor, or have experienced the same sort of problem

Thanks

Hi

The MAP sensor is down in the plastic air pipe that comes up from the intercooler and goes onto the bottom of the EGR housing. From memory it is alongside the aircon compressor, or down that way! As you face the front of the car it is down on the left of center on top of the air pipe.

The function of the EGRV is monitord by the change in air flow recorded by the MAF, the air flow drops slightly thro' the MAF when the EGRV opens. If you block off the EGRV then the ECU will see no change in flow and log a fault code.

bingo jonbuz, thank you. renault engineers must have spent, many sad hours thinking of a position where to hide this sensor, my god all the space to put it and they hide it between the top of the pipe and the aircon pump.

Once again thank you, if there is any thing german i can help you wit give me a call, german is my speciality.

Just wanted to thank johnbuz, found the sensor, then found two breaks in the harness feeding it, and this vehicle has been to a dealer and a specialist and no one found it, and another service only dealer  told me it was at the back of the engine. just a thank you from me.

thanks

Yep, it is very awkwardly placed - the wires to mine got severed by the auxiliary belt (aircon etc) as the little plastic guide holding the wires had broken off.
