Introducing my Murena
July 31, 2008, 01:20:33 PM
Hello!

I'm Martijn from Holland and I own a Murena 2.2 which I am converting to an Alfa-V6 engine. Thought I'd share some pictures of my project so far on this forum. (saw some familiar names here as well ;) )

Current state of my engine-bay

And the engine itself....

And finally, the car that I own. I have this car for about 8 years now. It's been repainted in Innocenti red/aubergine paint and fitted with a black leather interior. Hopefully I will finnish my project next year..... All good things cost time....

I also have a family-car since this year:

Rides like a dream! :D

Hi Martijn

I have seen your car before on your own website and I think it is a cracker.  The only thing I would change are the mirrors (although the originals are rubbish) and possibly the colour (just my taste).

Mind you with the Alfa V6 behind the seats I would forgive anything!

Good luck with the installation.  I look forward to seeing how it looks when it is finished!

Are you doing all the conversion work yourself? ,or have you brought Carjoy in on the job?

Hey, liked the mirrors! Where did you get them and how did you get them to fit that good...?

The side mirors on the alfa-murena are from Carjoy but I have not to day been able to find the mirrors on Carjoy's on page.

Thanx for all the replies!

I am doing the conversion by myself, but use the Carjoy sub-frame. My goal is to get the best looking engine-bay on a converted Murena ever so it takes a long time.... Right now I'm busy powdercoating the entire engine so it will look great and stay that way. It will still take me a lot of time before I can drive the car again I'm afraid..  :-\

Here's the project I did last weekend, the AR waterpump.

The mirrors I have on the Murena are indeed Carjoy mirrors. I don't know if he still sells them or that he ran out of stock but you could give him a call to ask. His prices are often quite reasonable.

If you contact carjoy to get some mirrors, let me know I might be interested as well...

I am currently working on a pair of Alfa 156 mirrors which will have the added bonus of being electrically operated - very useful when driving a lhd car in the UK.  If it works out I wll post some photos (and my old mirrors will be on ebay!)

The Car-Joy mirrors look nice but I had the chanche to drive a murena with this mirrors.
Also the louvres at the side windows were on the car.
Driving was only possible by hearing.
If you don't hear anything it went ok.

My mirrors were in very bad shape.
They are expencive, and most are warned out.
Stil did not find the optimal solution, but for the time being I fitted 2 Uno mirrors.

At least I see what I do know, and in the future I will think of something better.
I feel like Jonah, only my fish looks different.

I live in Terneuzen, Holland and me and my wife just LOVE norway! We're thinking about moving to Norway in 5 years time. We wanted to go earlier, but since we just had our first child (3 months old now) we decided to stay in Holland for the first few years so she can regularly see her grandparents.

Call me crazy for wanting to go to Norway but I like it way better than Holland :)
