How to release the console with light, clock, plip etc. I have found a torx in the middle (inside the console) but it does'nt seem to solve the problem. I need to change a bulb. Does anybody know how to open or get the thing down?
All the best

not much help, - but I have actually done this on my J63 many years ago, - but I cannot remember how. But at ;east you now know it IS possible :-)

Can you prise out the lamp cover and get access to a bolt there ?

The lamp cover does'nt really look like it's meant to com off. If that was possible I would simply just change the bulb and leave the rest on its place. I have tryed to press on the lamp-cover from above (through the hole)... To me it seems like the glass is glued or a stying part of the console.

Snap off the plastic surrounding the switches (cover underneath the switches), squeeze it on the sides if i remember it right - then you will find 2 more screws and have a total of 3 screws to drop the whole thing.
