brake master cylinder

I am wondering if this is the correct brake master cylinder.





I am asking because the "feeling" of the brakes was much better with the old master cylinder. (also the brake lines and hoses are renewed)

And i am asking because the garage which has fitted this master cylinder has also fitted a new clutch cylinder which turned out to be wrong, and replaced the wrong clutch cylinder by a another wrong clutch cylinder........

It seems that the master cylinder should be 20,5mm.

And what is the purpose of the upsite-down bleeding nipple?

Now I don't recall part numbers in my head, but it could be a Talbot Solara master cylinder ? - AFAIK it comes with an extra output, which isn't used on the Murena - hence must be blocked off - which could explain the bleed nipple (not to bleed, but simply to block).

No that is not the same as an original master cylinder.

Like Lennart, I think they have just used a bleed nipple to block of the hole that should not be there!  They have used the master cylinder from something else that has separate feeds out to the two front calipers I would guess.  The Murena uses one output and then splits it into two lower down where there is a tee-piece.  Whether this master cylinder will do the job correctly, will be down to things like bore size, and volume of fluid moved.
