Here is a very distastful clip from the 1980's. It shows our unsavoury English past. Thankfully most of this behaviour is now behind us, although only yesterday we had a headlining episode between West Ham and Milwall. It made the headlines because this is now not the norm. A good friend of mine who supports Tottenham alterted me to the Matra at the 2.16 point. I've looked at it and can't say for sure what it is. It is the black car. To me it looks like a Bagheera. Is it? What do you think?

I must congratulate your sharp-eyed friend.  I would never have spotted that if I wasn't looking for a Matra.  I have to agree that it's a Bagheera though.  By the way, when are we going to see the Le Mans video on YouTube?

Hello Peter,

It looks very modern compared to the other vehicles around it. I tend to agree that it is indeed a Bagheera.

As to the Le Mans special, as you know Roy copied it onto my memory stick in Wales but I have lost the damn thing somehow. Along with my years accounts on the same stick! I think it would be too long for YouTube at 16 minutes. Also I haven't got permission to post it from Roy. I think it would be better to post an edited version as and when. It is a good one though. Watch this space.

Since I am new to this site there is a chance these videos have been shown before... But its still a nice little introduction to the Matra history.

My children gave me a framed signed photo of Jackie Stewart in a Matra Ford for X-mas which is great. The seller said is was possibly taken at Brands Hatch , but was not sure. I thought it was Graham Hill Bend before it was altered? The car I knew was a 1969 MS10 Matra Ford from a poster in my study. Then much to my amazement I had a small photo of this actual car at the event taken by a neighbours brother.  I turned the photo over and he had even written on it "Matra Ford Winner of Race of Champs 1969 Jackie Stewart". A quick search on the internet confirmed this race and photo's were infact all from Brands Hatch.

Play the clip on this link below. Absolutely brilliant and just look at the crowds and the safety!  Shocked

Just received this email with interesting links:
(I'm hoping that this might bring Pescarolo back to Le Mans Classic ... in a M670!)

Hello !

Recently, I have seen some new french stuff about the winning M670 in Le Mans 1972.

1) le dossier de presse

   http://www.museematra.com/?p=454

2) la galerie de photos Endurance-Info.com

   http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/galerie-photo.php?page=575&np=1

3) la vid\351o "back to the past" with Henri Pescarolo himself and the M670

   http://videos.tf1.fr/jt-13h/retour-vers-le-passe-pour-pescarolo-6071924.html

I wish you all the best and thank you again for your nice website.

Please take a look at The Matra Enthusiasts Club on tour 2002. Follow them round a lap of the great circuit, hope you enjoy.

This should be the link:
