I am going to change my discs on my grand espace soon. do you have to take the pads out first then take the caliper off ?  the pads look ok, is it best to change the pads as well ?

cheers Peter

I think you will be having the twin pistoned calipers and large disks like I do on mine. As far as I remember, the calipers are rotated off the pads, at which point you will remove them from the retaining part of the caliper in which they are sitting. You can then remove the entire caliper assembly from the hub, and the disks can be replaced. It's not a difficult job.

You should definitely replace the pads as well as the disks. The pads and disk wear together, so you may end up having a pad which does not sit well on the new disk. You risk a brake failure if you don't.

Good luck,
Anders
