They did some modifications regarding this issue and your car is most probably slightly different with those cables than earlier 2.2 dCi - still not good then, unless some previous repair/service caused naked cables down there.

I'm happy to help Smiley , when all is added the JE - depending on engine - are suffering from the same common faults, the problem is that the dealers never adds up but seem to start with blank sheets and not a clue each time - and individual mechanics steer clear of these cars as they think its some kind of supernatural intelligens inside it - impossible to figure out Roll Eyes - and all of this is making the car to a non stop issue over the same problems.

I can hardly imagine any car being more fault free than our JE, its a 24v though and have less common issues engine weiss than the GM engine sitting in your car. Regardless, a modern common rail engine is more costly when it comes to repair than a petrol engine -and it has more gizmo's than can go wrong.
Personally i will stick to petrol cars due to this amongst other things. When that is said the 2.2 dCi is a great engine for this car, only the 24v that can match up on power.

Cross my fingers for a fault free 2011 for your car from now on, seems like you have these issues under control now. Just disconnect the EGR while you still have it moving and sealed okay - it will work much better that way Grin

OK, going to try disconnecting the EGR valve this weekend. I have already disconnected the air mass mater (see seperate story) as this was being a pain last year, with three replacements (2 paid for under warranty by Renault) yet they never solved the problem. Since I unplugged it, had no more issues witht that. It seems a shame you have to disconnect all this stuff to make the car work as it should

It would not surprice me if the reason for air mass meter issues is a leaking intercooler as i might have said before. By disconnecting it runs on default values not seeing live data.

I have heard this from someone else.  Where is the intercoolr? Can it be checked, cleaned etc and how easy to replace?

its in the middle of a sandwich with the radiator and ac condenser, hard to inspect unless you connect a smoke machine. A few hrs job to replace.

See my other post about water in the EGR housing. You were 100% right, intercooler was to blame. Replaced now, much better and the air mass meter plugged back in and working fine. Why don't I listen!!

Thanks for your help guys...
