Reports will know that Matra has plans for a comeback for the Murena sports car. Realizing that there is a growing market for specialty sports cars, Matra has decided to start up production of the Murena model of their once popular sports car line. The car will come with the latest in technology, such as ABS brakes, traction control, full-time 4-wheel drive, heads-up display, and more. Roumors has it that the engine is being develloped in cooperation with Ferrari by producing a 6 cylinder, variable valve timing, 5 valve per cylinder, compressor loaded, fuel injected beast, delivering 350 HP and 660 NM at 3000 RPM. Carbon fiber body panels instead of the original fiberglass will shave 150 KG off the Murena's already light weight 995 KG. It will maintain the galvanized chassis due to its stiffer characteristics, compared to a similar aluminium version. The car will be produced at the factory of Arianne Productione, Rue Internationale Livre, Fabrique Originale Optione Ligne.

Good morning Jon,
i have heared also from Matras plans some days ago but you were faster with posting it. :-(  But the best is: there are three prototypes made. I will post a Link with a photo later today.

It is just fantastic that Matra made this decission for a come-back. Hopefully we can make a trade-in with some rusted Bagheeras.
