There are two kinds of window switches in the JE. Does any of you know whether they are compatible?
I want to replace a later version set of switches with one of the early ones.

Thanks & cheers,

If you have the older switches then have a look at the link below, you will see images of the connectors so you can compare them without removing yours.
Can't find connector images of the earlier switches.
There are several sets of the later type switches on ebay for £20
Or just buy a pair from the rear that should fit the front ( unless the drivers switch is different for the 'one touch' operation. I think this is done by the bcm though.

Thanks Brian.

Actually, I'm looking to replace the newer style switches with the older ones. The reason is that the frame looks bad due to the soft covering peeling off. It has also broken off a tab near the front of it on the drivers side. The older style switches have frames in blue plastic. It may not look as sexy as the white'ish rubberlike surface used to, but at least they don't change much with age!

Hi,

I would very much like to know the outcome of this.

My window switches are identical to yours (I have the 2.2dci 'the Race' version) and badly worn.

The standard blue handles would look much better if this modification can be done.

Many Thanks.
