..while i was writing "Klumzer" has already posted ;-) Calling the seller of the red Murena could be a good solution. You would have some more spare-parts and when you are able to overhaul the mechanic it could be a good deal.

@ klumzer: i never meassured the consume of my lady by a constant drive. But in the average it is around 9 -10 liters by driving in a way where it makes fun :-) :-)
I think that´s not bad for a two double-carburettor-engine with some modifications and the wide body ;-)

Unfortunately, all of the engine parts are missing

Bad news... Having a spare car is the cheapest solution, I think...

Where do you live in Hungary?

Oh, I see.

I can give you a contact for a guy who stored a Murena for years. He wanted to sell it in very bad shape, but it had a 2.2S engine. Perhaps he still has it, but I think it was sold a year ago.

He has an M530 and a Rancho.

If you can give him contact information, i can talk to him.

Very hot topic... Smiley

Yes, it is quite good. My carb is still not perfect and I could not drive my car on the road because the lack of reg.plate so I could not measure or estimate my consumption. But some normal warm-ups needs some liters....

Peugeot Mi16 engine~200€, engine+gearbox~300€. Cheaper than an original 2.2 and easier to find here.

But a lot of paperwork at the authorities to put through the car on the MOT...

Edit:
I almost forgot to attach the link:

Welcome to the forum alvinisztika!
I do not think that anyone has mentioned that the rear suspension and engine mounting points are different on 1.6 and 2.2 versions. This is of cause important when you are searching for an engine.

The 2.2 makes it more easy.
There is a little  more space to put a foreign engine in.
The yellow 1.6 in the youtube movie has a 2.2 rear drivetrain as far as I know, but Laszlo can tell you more about it.

I measured the consumation several times of my 2.2
I f I drive it relaxed I can get 10 km a litre.
Rucksichtloos driving however can get it to 6-7 km a liter.
My 1.6 is much more economic around 10-11 km a liter normal use.

Lot of thanks!
At the end of the week I see a 2.2 from Murena. I hope that he is in good condition, because then I'll buy it. And let the fun begin Smiley
