On following up on my problems with my 2.2 a friend let me borrow 2 of he's ignition modules, since he noticed similar problems with the module on he's Peougot.
My question thou is: what is this moduls purpose, and is there any way of checking if it is faulty?

From my experience there are only two possibilities with the ignition modul: it works or it doesn´t work. Means: you will get a spark or not. Nothing between. I had to change my modul two times. It was everytime the same, it was just dead and didn´t produced any ignition-spark.

But i think it could be possible that the modul has interruptions if it is losing the minus-contact to the chassis. Just an idea.

Hmmm. I may have to check the ignition module. My Murena has refused to start for the last two weeks. I ran it a month ago, but then on a nice sunny day (one of those that just begs you to go for a ride in a Murena  Grin ) it just refused to start. Cranks fine, but no ignition at all.
I had the problem once where the engine just quit. In rush hour, fast lane, at a traffic light, of course. That turned out to be a bad connection on the ignition coil. Apparently not so this time.
I have extra ignition modules, somewhere in storage. But I just finished building me a work shop and storage room. Everything is just jammed in there and needs to be sorted  Sad So, where to find the module.  Huh Huh

Today I am marrying a fine lady that I knew 44 years ago and found again 3 years ago on Facebook.  Smiley Smiley Smiley
Now that we both have turned 65 and are retired it is about time we get married. My own Murena was going to take us to and from church but it is not running.  Sad
Philbert has generously made his Murena available with his son Niels as chauffeur.  Grin We will ride in style.
