Winning bid:£1,961.12

Seems a very reasonable price to me.

Hello there, I am based in Hove, got the car from Ramsgate.

there are obviously a few issues that need to be rectified but a cracking price nonetheless.

I will definitely be tapping in to the forums knowledge base as it is my first Matra, my first project and also my first car  Cool

pics to follow

Here is how I bought it, dragged out of a garage for the first time in 5 years

and here is its current state

ill add a thread with my restoration progress and link it later, but for now, the work I've done to it is as follows:

New Battery, changed gearbox and engine oil, (EP80/90 GL4 and 15W40 mineral)
started first time!
removed spare wheel bay, rusty ass radiator and water pipes, headlamp vacuum mechanism, front bumper and what I believe to be a reserve fuel tank??
removed air box and am sanding off the rust.
removed and cleaned the expansion bottle.

cleaned all the relay ports, (missing relays, need to research what goes where)

it looks dodgy but I have all the parts apart from the emergency headlamp release catch, a few bits of interior houndstooth cloth, the button cover for the middle seat release, a few wheel nut covers, some hose that comes from the air box, the sill trim, a wing mirror arm and the gear knob.

Does your reserve tank look like the second picture in this post:
http://www.matrasport.dk/forum/index.php/topic,2641.msg20862.html#msg20862

If it does, it is the vacuum reserve for the front lights. It is missing in your engine bay, it goes on the right, behind the right chassis member.

Whatever you do, don't throw away anything! Some parts cannot be found but can be repaired/refurbished.

Ah I see, thats what that is then, yeah I still have everything, wouldn't dream of chucking anything, I took it out to check if it had stale petrol in it, this would explain why it didn't!  Tongue

Cheers for the info!
