There is an ignition module. Don't know it's full function but maybe someone can enlighten us?

There is no ignition capacitor.
There are distortion capacitors
I placed mine at the +contact near the module and one at the B+ on the alternator.

The ignition module for 1.6 and 2.2 are different.
The 1.6 has a Hall module driven by a hall sensor in the distributor
The 2.2 has a induction module driven by a coil also located in distributor.
The module in the above link is wrong.
Stated in the auction is that they can be used in 1.6 and 2.2 wich is impossible.
For the 2.2 you need the Peugeot 2.2 turbo module.
Bosch nummer for the 2.2 confirmed working 0227-100-123

The capacitor is for killing radio interference/distortion.
It has to clean the electrical system.
For example, you have a sound on the radio that change with the RPM of the engine.
It can come from Alternator or ignition.
The capacitor can clean it.

Sometimes it is not needed to mount it.
My 2.2 has a quality radio from Pioneer.
No interference here but my 1.6 has a older radio from te 70s.
There I mounted one on the alternator and one at the coil/module.
It solved the problem.
