electronic copy of 1982 Murena brochure

Hi,

Someone has asked what my Murena is, I'd like to send them the photo on the second page of the 1982 brochure of a red Murena with the male driver and two young ladies in the car. I've searched the net but can't find an electronic copy of the brochure or that photo. My copy of the brochure has the left hand side of the picture 5mm lower than the right hand side so don't want to scan that..... Does anyone have an electronic copy or know of one?

The engine on my Murena has now been dyno'd (150 bhp) so all I've got to do now is pick the engine up from Essex and get it back to Bristol and in the car...

I know what picture you are thinking of... I have an electronic copy here that a fellow Matracien once gave to me - but that's still a bit off. You might be able to persuade Lennart to fix it as he's a bit of a wonder with picture editing

Congrats on your engine, that's a fine figure indeed - please tell us more what exactly has been done to it?

Now, Zac - there are so many other pictures of the Murena available - why are your specifically interested in showing the one where the car obviously carry a guy and TWO GIRLFRIENDS ? :-)   (even if the one looks a bit neglected) ? :-)

Anyway, here you go - my scans were very low quality, so its the best I can do.

I know what she is telling him: "Yes I know I'm brushing your thighs, but keep your eyes on the road ahead anyway!!". The girl on the left is just a colleague trying to think of something else or maybe see if she can attract some guys on road?

Thanks for the brochure shot Lennart! I bought my first Murena thinking of that photo and the only time I've been three up is with Roy Gillard and Chris House (let's just say they're not quite as attractive as the models in the brochure).

I can't remember exactly what has been done to it, something like fast road camshaft, ported heads etc. It's now on del'lorto 40s rather than the 45s it had when I was given the car.

The engine was rebuilt by a guy I know through Jensen-Healey (aka Lotus) engines, Martin Shirley in Nuneaton. I'm picking the engine up on Saturday so just have to arrange to get it refitted.....I need to check with Martin what was done so will let you all know.

The guys did a video of the engine being dyno'd, I'll post it on the net when Martin finally remembers to send it to me.

Lennart - sold the Jensen SP / GT / Healey (not all owned at the same time!) and now have an FF. For any James Blunt fans it's the one in the Wise Men video (with me with a James Blunt wig - scary).

Is there room for an airbox around them?

I suspect I'll have to take the trumpets off and fit the pancake filters that were there before. Must find some new ones, I think they were by a company called sprint or something.

Picked the engine up today, at the moment I have a 4.7 litre volvo! Don't want to take the engine out of the car and put it back in to take to the mechanic.

If anyone else wants a 2.2 engine dyno'd he still has the tubular manifold modified with the sensors etc so can do another one easily. It's not cheap though, although the next one should be cheaper as he now has the bits to make the engine fit to the rig etc. I saw the video of the engine being dyno'd - very impressive. Once I get the copy from the engine builder I'll post it on the interweb.

Hmmm...I was afraid you were going to say them, I once had a very bad experience at Track 'n' road. Not very impressed at all.
