Intermittent Battery light and Oil warning light

Hi to all again - since changing the fuel tank sender unit recently due to a crack in the plastic flow pipe, my espace was running fine. Now intermittently the battery warning light comes on for a while and goes off then it is immediately followed by the Oil warning light which also extinguishes after a few seconds. I have also noticed that at times the car is taking more cranks to start. The other day my wife coudnt get it to start, it was turnng over but not firing. Guess i will have to jack it up and have a look at the alternator wiring and check the battery voltage. The only problem is that the fault lights only come on for a bit. I eec to check in fault mode. I have had a look in case i have to replace the alternator boy does tha loook challenging, you can't even see it from under the bonnet. Any thoughts anyone or has anyone had this problem before ?
