A 1442cc block or engine required

Hello all,
There is a Bagheera Series I owner in Staffordshire U.K. that has bought a lovely Series II Bagheera S, but has found that the block is cracked - yes the block not the cylinder head. He needs another 1442cc block. Some may even recognise the car as it was the first one, owned by the Chrysler Dealer that was behind importing these cars into the U.K., that was modified by Hodec to right hand drive.
Now there were huge numbers of these made as they were fitted to so many Simca/Chrysler/Talbot models, many of which have deteriorated to the point where they have never been restored and probably scrapped. Surely there must be loads of these old engines still around, either in cars waiting to be scrapped or at scrapyards? Does anyone have one of these engines or know of one, or maybe just a block that can restore this lovely example of a Bagheera to full health again? Thanks for any information which I will pass on.
Roy

Update...
The Bagheera owner that needs another block as his is cracked, would buy a 1592cc engine or block instead, if someone has one of those going spare.

Might be worth contacting Mick Ward from the Simca owners club.
Cheers

There is a simca rally 1.3 engine on ebay at the moment, comparing the photos with the thread by "Moes" time to do some repairs. The block casting looks very similar if not identical to me ?

Roy, Dick Husband might be worth a phone call if not done already?
